 About ReCommon

ReCommon – an Italian Non-Governmental Organisation based in Rome – works to oppose the power of multinational corporations and financial groups through multifaceted campaigns and investigations on social, environmental and climate justice issues. We believe that the current extractivist model is profoundly unjust and that a real process of society’s transformation can be achieved only through collective efforts.

Area of work

Engagement with investors would allow ReCommon to increase the pressure on campaign targets both in the corporate (Italian energy multinationals) and financial sector (Italian banks and other financial institutions).

The work is mainly advocacy, oriented to sensitise mainly international investors to intervene in the appropriate fora, taking on board the demands of international civil society groups on climate, environment and human rights.

The preparation of shareholders’ meetings (where investors can submit questions, introduce agenda items, resolutions and question management’s actions) offers important opportunities for investor engagement. Similarly, preparing briefings, organising bilateral exchanges and participating in investor roundtables and seminars are opportunities that foster engagement and increase the chances of moving investors to action.

With the investor work, the person will contribute to the activities of ReCommon’s campaigns  on Fossil finance, False climate solutions and The six-legged state, interfacing regularly with ReCommon’s campaigner(s).
