Mines and coal-fired power stations in North Bohemia have been causing a very heavy environmental damage for decades, undermining the ecosystem of the region and the health of those who live there. Yet the Czech state company CEZ does not intend to give up this business which is only exacerbating the effects of climate change. Italian Insurance Group Generali is among the minority shareholders of CEZ.
