Perhaps few people in Italy know that article 66 of the decree on deregulation intends to dispose of (ie sale) state-owned agricultural land.
After energy, transport, aqueducts, buildings, roads, here is the latest attempt to impose the logic of the market and profit on the collective management of common property in the name of an alleged and negligible contribution to the reduction of public debt.
Selling agricultural land means barring communities that live there to decide how to manage them territorially. It means giving away, in an irreversible manner, a vital resource to speculators. It means accepting that the private interest is once again put forcefully above the common good.
The public lands are and must remain the heritage of local communities. We must mobilize to protect them.
NO to the sale of public lands!
